Bio
My name is Mrs. Julie Woodard. I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself, both personally and professionally.
This is my twenty-second year of teaching. I have a M.A. degree in Teaching from Grand Canyon University Distance Learning Program in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to that, I received my B.A. degree in Liberal Studies from Bethany College in Scotts Valley, CA. I also received my A.A. degree from Sierra College. I am married, have a 16 year old son (Josiah) and a 12 year old son (Micah).
This is my nineteenth year teaching at Franklin School. Prior to coming to Loomis to teach, I had the privilege of teaching Sixth Grade in Salinas, California. I taught limited English speaking students. This was a real growing experience for me has I had to communicate regularly in Spanish. In the summer of 1999, my husband changed careers, which relocated us back to Northern California.
I am fully dedicated to student learning. Teaching is more than a job to me. Teaching is a big part of my life. I teach to be a positive role model and to make a difference. My mission as a teacher is to instill a positive self-image in each student, that inspires respect for others. I will provide a supportive environment that leads students to obtain a love for learning and recognize its importance. I will set high expectations to enable them to reach their greatest potential--intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. I will provide opportunities that will engage them in their learning, teach valuable communication skills, and prepare them with skills, knowledge, and tools that will support them in their future endeavors.
My teaching philosophy is that every child truly believe that they can be successful in their education and preparation for the future. I will do my part to foster this positive belief and expect cooperation, respect, hard work, and dedication from each of my students.
I look forward to an excellent year. You will be hearing from me often because you are the most influential person in you child’s life, and your involvement and support are vital to your child’s achievements.
Here's to a great year!
